Engineering Manager

You will lead our Centre of Excellence for Engineering. Developing our team of highly experienced specialists within textiles and engineering – in product development, lifecycle management and industrialisation. Working cross functionally with our Innovation team in Germany, Norway and beyond.

As a key member of the Innovation leadership team you will be responsible for the transformation in close cooperation with leaders and colleagues across the Stokke organisation. You are a leader who believes in the values of the Stokke brand and an inspirational leader with strong principles, ready to roll up your sleeves and deliver on the mission.

In addition to a bachelor or master’s degree in engineering, you will need relevant experience with management and an international mindset. Also, we want you to be experienced in the following:

• Engineering management with a proven track record of leading development and industrialization of products in an international environment.
• Technical design, managing multi-disciplinary technical teams and projects.
• Stakeholder management skills, working cross-functionally, dealing with internal and  external stakeholders
• Ideally you have experience from industries or projects working with consumer products in wood, plastics and textiles.

Your responsibilities:

• Leading and coaching the team developing technical solutions from ideas and concept, over mock-ups and prototypes to final products.
• Set direction and standards on technical quality in product development and industrialization activities in new products development and PLM projects.
• Secure efficient execution of product maintenance activities that require engineering and textiles resources.
• Identifying, building and managing relationships with external contractors and suppliers.
• Quality assurance of Stokke project model deliverables and processes such as Technical reviews, DFM, manufacturing documentation and product structure
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering methods to constantly raise the bar
• Determining the need for training and talent development
• Ensure technical product development and maintenance agendas have support of management
• Take part in the project board and take ownership of the engineering guidelines securing part approval, DFM, technical reviews, product information and other engineering related processes are followed according to Stokke’s guidelines and initiates process improvement where needed.
• Develop, maintain and anchor engineering procedures, advance scientific research and elevate standards
